La Vida y Obra de Colin Wilson

Colin Wilson nació y creció en Leicester, Reino Unido. Dejó sus estudios a los 16 años. Trabajó en varias fábricas y otros empleos, dedicando su tiempo libre a la lectura.

Cuando tenía 24 años, publicó su primer libro, The Outsider (1956). Este libro analizaba el papel de las personas que se sienten "diferentes" o "fuera de lugar" en la sociedad. Colin Wilson también escribió mucho sobre metafísica y ocultismo. En 1971, publicó The Occult: A History (Lo Oculto en español). En este libro, exploró las ideas de figuras como George Gurdjieff, Helena Petrovna Blavatsky y la cábala.

También investigó la "Facultad X", una idea sobre cómo las personas podrían aumentar su percepción. Esta facultad podría incluir habilidades como la telepatía. En sus últimos trabajos, incluso consideró la posibilidad de la vida después de la muerte.

En sus novelas, Colin Wilson exploró sus ideas sobre el potencial humano. Escribió historias de intriga y ciencia ficción. Algunas de sus obras incluso se relacionan con los Mitos de Cthulhu, un universo de ficción creado por H. P. Lovecraft.

En 2011, Colin Wilson se sometió a una operación de columna. Después, sufrió un problema de salud que le hizo perder la capacidad de hablar. En octubre de 2013, fue hospitalizado por Neumonía y falleció el 5 de diciembre de ese mismo año. Fue enterrado en la iglesia de Gorran, en Cornualles.
