El Premio Arthur C. Clarke es un reconocimiento anual muy importante. Se entrega a la mejor novela de ciencia ficción que se haya publicado por primera vez en el Reino Unido durante el año anterior.
Este premio fue creado gracias a una donación de Arthur C. Clarke, un famoso escritor de ciencia ficción. La primera vez que se entregó fue en el año 1987.
La novela ganadora es elegida por un grupo de jueces. Estos jueces provienen de tres organizaciones: la British Science Fiction Association, la Science Fiction Foundation y un festival de cine llamado Sci-Fi-London.
El ganador recibe un premio en dinero, que es igual al número del año en que se entrega el premio (por ejemplo, en 2019, el premio fue de £2019). También reciben un trofeo especial con forma de sujetalibros, que tiene una placa conmemorativa grabada.
