John Saxon (nacido como Carmine Orrico) fue un actor estadounidense. Nació el 5 de agosto de 1936 en Brooklyn, Nueva York, y falleció el 25 de julio de 2020 en Murfreesboro, Tennessee. A lo largo de sesenta años, participó en más de 200 películas y programas de televisión.
Se le recuerda por sus papeles en películas del género wéstern y de terror. A menudo interpretaba a personajes como policías o detectives.
Estudió actuación con Stella Adler antes de empezar su carrera con Universal Pictures. Apareció en películas como Rock, Pretty Baby (1956) y Portrait in Black (1961). La vida y carrera de John Saxon
Los primeros años de un actor
John Saxon nació con el nombre de Carmine Orrico en Brooklyn, Nueva York. Sus padres eran inmigrantes de origen italiano. Su padre, Antonio Orrico, trabajaba en el puerto, y su madre era Anne Protettore. Creció en un barrio de Brooklyn con muchos inmigrantes.
Cuando tenía 16 años, un agente de Hollywood lo descubrió. Este agente, de apellido Wilson, vio una foto de Carmine Orrico en una revista. Pensó que tenía el aspecto ideal para ser actor. Así que lo contactó y le ofreció una carrera en el cine. Fue entonces cuando le cambió el nombre a John Saxon.
Saxon estudió actuación en el Actors Studio con la maestra Stella Adler. Su carrera como actor comenzó en 1959.

John Saxon tuvo relaciones con las actrices Diana Baker, Gia Scala y Linda Cristal. Se casó tres veces. Su primera esposa fue Mary Ann Saxon, con quien tuvo a su único hijo, Antonio. Su segunda esposa fue Elizabeth Saxon. Su tercera y última esposa fue Gloria Saxon.
Saxon era cinturón negro en kárate y también era bueno en judo.
Fallecimiento
El actor John Saxon falleció el 25 de julio de 2020 en Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Tenía 83 años y la causa de su muerte fue una neumonía.
