Wendy Ann Hughes (nacida en Melbourne el 29 de julio de 1952 y fallecida en Sídney el 8 de marzo de 2014) fue una talentosa actriz australiana. Se hizo muy conocida por sus muchos trabajos en el teatro, el cine y la televisión.

Biografía de Wendy Hughes
Wendy Hughes nació de padres ingleses. Al principio, estudió para ser bailarina. Más tarde, asistió al National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), una escuela muy importante para actores.
Fue una buena amiga de la actriz Colette Mann.
Wendy tuvo un hijo llamado Jay Juillet, con el restaurador Patrick Juillet.
También tuvo una hija, Charlotte Haywood, con el actor inglés Chris Haywood.
En 1971, se casó con el actor Sean Scully, pero su matrimonio terminó en 1973.
Wendy falleció a los 61 años el 8 de marzo de 2014, debido a una enfermedad.
Carrera como actriz
Wendy Hughes fue una actriz australiana muy reconocida y premiada. Trabajó en muchas obras de teatro y películas.
Su carrera duró más de cuarenta años, lo que la convirtió en una de las actrices más activas y talentosas de Australia.
Durante su adolescencia, Wendy decidió dedicarse a la actuación. Después de estudiar en el NIDA y mejorar sus habilidades con la Compañía de Teatro de Melbourne, consiguió su primer papel en el cine en la película Petersen (1974). En la década de 1970, también empezó a aparecer en televisión.
Fue considerada una figura importante en el desarrollo del cine australiano. Trabajó de cerca con artistas destacados como el director de fotografía John Seale y los escritores David Williamson y Bob Ellis. Fue una de las actrices principales durante el "Nuevo Cine Australiano" en los años 70, un período en el que el cine de su país tuvo mucho éxito.
Su primer papel famoso a nivel internacional fue el personaje de Patricia en la película Lonely Hearts (1982). Con este papel, comenzó a trabajar durante muchos años con el director holandés-australiano Paul Cox.
