Terry Ballantine Bisson (nacido en Owensboro, Estados Unidos, el 12 de febrero de 1942 – fallecido el 10 de enero de 2024 en Berkeley, California) fue un escritor estadounidense. Se hizo famoso por sus historias de ciencia ficción y fantasía. Estudió en la Universidad de Louisville y vivió en Oakland, California.

La carrera de Terry Bisson como escritor

Terry Bisson es muy conocido por sus cuentos cortos. Uno de ellos, llamado Bears Discover Fire (1990), ganó dos premios importantes: el Premio Hugo al mejor relato corto y el Premio Nébula en 1991.

En 2001, ganó otro Premio Nébula por su cuento Macs. También recibió su segundo Premio Locus y su primer Grand Prix de l'Imaginaire.

Además de sus cuentos, Terry Bisson escribió varias novelas. Algunas de ellas fueron versiones de películas famosas, como El quinto elemento y Johnny Mnemonic.

También trabajó con otros escritores como Greg Bear y Anne McCaffrey en el mundo de las historietas. Incluso ayudó a terminar un libro para otro autor, Walter M. Miller.
