Description: Retrato del teniente general Baltasar Hidalgo de Cisneros (1758-1829), que llegó a ser virrey del Río de la Plata. Es un retrato de medio cuerpo, y el personaje viste uniforme de teniente general, que en aquella época era similar entre los miembros del ejército y los de la armada, y luce la banda de la Orden de Isabel la Católica, la cruz de caballero de la Orden de Carlos III y la placa de comendador de dicha orden, la placa de la gran cruz de la Orden de San Hermenegildo, y las placas de las órdenes de Isabel la Católica y de la Orden de la Flor de Lis de Francia. El retrato fue depositado en el Museo Naval de Madrid por su hijo, José Hidalgo de Cisneros, que era brigadier de la Guardia Civil, en 1852, y fue restaurado en 1993.
