The four Bs, or Fire Steles (Greek: Πυρεκβόλα - Pyrekvola), represent the initials of the family's motto King of Kings, Ruling Over Rulers (Greek: Βασιλεύς Βασιλέων, Βασιλεύων Βασιλευόντων - Vasilefs Vasileon, Vasilevon Vasilevonton).
