Descripción: Specialist offshore construction vessel North Sea Giant in Bangor Bay. When launched in 2009, this was the longest vessel of its type in the world. It is designed "for long term construction works in the open sea, supporting a crew of 120 people. The ship has a heliport, exercise hall, movie theater and sauna. There are two cranes on deck, one with a load capacity of 400 tons and the other 250 tons.". The ship has been working in the North Channel since October 2011 repairing the faulty Moyle Interconnector, a subsea high voltage cable which runs between Scotland and Ireland. The ship temporarily sat off Bangor on the 8th December 2011 taking shelter from extremely strong winds in the North Channel, although they also took advantage of this situation to transfer crew onboard via the 'Bangor Boat'
