Descripción: The file shows the results obtained in the "National Survey about Discrimination in Mexico 2010" on it the participants were asked to select from a chart the color that matched the best their skin color, the survey was general, there wasn't distinction of ethnicy: people of indigenous ancestry, European or white ancestry and mestizos could take part in it. While on this excercise the majority of Mexicans identified themselves with colors found in the lighter side of the catalog, curiously when asked how would they call their skin tone, the majority answered "moreno" (dark/cooper skinned). Methodology: The survey was performed in 13,751 homes, providing information about 52 thousand 95 persons. The homes were selected in the 32 federal entities of the country­, on 301 municipalities and one thousand 359 starting points. The sample used was randomly selected, multistaged, stratified by conglomerates and, in general, the primary sample units were selected with a probability that is proportional to the general population. The results obtained allow the comparison of eleven geographical regions, ten highly populated metropolitan zones, four types of locality and four border zones in the country. Said characteristics allowed to obtain general estimations that, considering a 95% of reliability, have a maximun error margin of +/- 1.1 percentual points.
