Descripción: Moonscape. Lunar landscape. Mountain valley. Valleys of Jammu and Kashmir are often called Heaven on Earth for their breathtaking beauty. The lunar landscapes around Lamayuru are to be called ‘moonscapes’ or Moon on Earth metaphorically. The lunar moon-like valleys and canyons around Lamayuru topographically have much in common with neighboring Zanskar Range in Jammu and Kashmir, yet they are not part of any major mountain range in Ladakh. Lamayuru-Kargil area is unique by itself as it is sandwiched between the Great Himalayan Range, the Zanskar Range, the Ladakh Range, and the Karakoram Range on the north.
