Descripción: Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuge, CA Photo: USFWS Note: Hopper Mountain and Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuges were created as habitat for the critically endangered California condor. Captive-bred California condors are released there, and chicks have recently successfully fledged in the wild. Both refuges are closed to the public for the birds' protection, but condors can sometimes be seen from roads bordering the refuges. Contact refuge staff for more information about condors and other native CA species.
