Description: Cartoon, "'Will you walk into my parlor?' said the Spider to the Fly." Railroad tycoon E. H. Harriman is depicted as a fly on a spider web labeled "The Law," subject to the control of the Interstate Commerce Commission, depicted here as the spider. Harriman controlled the Union Pacific Railroad, Southern Pacific Railroad, Illinois Central Railroad and others. The cartoon caption is the opening line from "The Spider and the Fly," an 1829 poem by Mary Howitt. Cartoon brightened from LOC scanned image.
