Archivo: Thomas-Stanley-1st-Earl-of-Derby

Descripción: 19th century engraving after a 16th century portrait. It has been claimed to be of Thomas Stanley, 1st Earl of Derby (* c 1435; † 1504), but clearly is not as the costume and beard are from the late 16th century. It is most probably Edward the 3rd Earl (1509-72, or possibly Henry the 4th Earl. Both were bearded, and were Knights of the Garter, but the beard is most similar to Edward's. English statesman.
