Descripción: Excerpt of figure from “From Lizard to Snake; Behind the Evolution of an Extreme Body Plan” (Woltering, 2012), showing the embryo of a snake and mouse to highlight the different in body plan. The mouse is a day 12 post fertilization embryo and the snake (Corn snake, Pantherophis guttatus), is around 2 days post ovo-positioning. The Corn snake is not a basal snake, and thus does bot exhibit hind limb bud formation.
