Descripción: The central pavilion of the Mitchell Building (1876) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, showing the statue of "Industry." Located at 207 E. Michigan Street in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this building was commissioned by the millionaire Scottish immigrant, entrepreneur, and politician Alexander Mitchell. Designed by E. Townsend Mix in the French Second Empire style and constructed of gray sandstone and built at a total cost of $400,000, this building stood at the hub of downtown Milwaukee and still functions today as a commercial center.
