Descripción: Longleat House from the south east Substantially completed in 1580 for Sir John Thynne, the house has been described as one of Britain's finest examples of high Elizabethan architecture. The frontage of the house extends for 220 feet, and the sides to 180. It was the first stately home in Britain to open to the public, which it did in 1949, and is the ancestral home of the Marquis of Bath. Grade I Listed.
