Descripción: South Korean National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik met with Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino. Speaker Woo mentioned major infrastructure projects in which South Korean companies are participating, such as the Panama Metro Line 3 and the Panama Canal Tunnel, and asked for special attention so that South Korean companies with excellent technology and experience can participate in the Panama City-David Railway Construction Project, which is a key project of the President Mulino, and deepen railway cooperation. In response, President Mulino emphasized the need to foster Panama’s shipbuilding industry and build shipyards, and requested cooperation with South Korean companies. Speaker Woo responded that South Korea would not spare support in transferring its shipbuilding industry know-how. In response, President Mulino expressed his hope that South Korea could participate in the David Railway Construction Project, either fully or partially. President Mulino also emphasized the need to foster Panama’s shipbuilding industry and build shipyards, as a maritime nation, and requested cooperation with South Korean companies. In response, Speaker Woo proposed an official visit to South Korea by President Mulino and promised not to spare support in transferring the know-how of the the country's shipbuilding industry during his visit.
