Description: Irwin's Chapel Log Church at the Museum of Appalachia in Norris, Tennessee, USA. The church was built around 1840 in the Hamburg community of western Madison County, North Carolina, and was eventually purchased by Thomas Tweed, who moved it to the Woodfin area near Asheville. Tweed's descendants sold it to museum founder John Rice Irwin in 1976. Irwin simply called it "Irwin's Chapel" after being unable to determine the name of the church.
