Descripción: Guatemala City, Semana Santa procession, Holy Wednesday Semana Santa (Holy Week) in Christianity is the week just before Easter. In the west, it is also the last week of Lent, and includes Palm Sunday, Holy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. It does not include Easter Sunday, which is the beginning of another liturgical week. Many of the Holy Week processions in Guatemala date back to the 17th century. Many of the colonial images of Christ with the Cross date back to the 16th and 17th centuries, and some were made by Guatemalan artists.
