Descripción: A lazy turn of the Wildwood Trail such as this is uncommon in Forest Park. Most creeks descend a reasonably steep grade toward the east (in background) and the trail makes sharp turns to maintain a reasonably level grade. This area had been logged some 50 years before, perhaps to be developed for housing. Many such lots were acquired by the City of Portland when the owners defaulted on taxes or road building assessments, or sold to the city once expansion of the park began in earnest in the 1940s.
