Archivo: Flag of Orestes, IN

Descripción: The flag of Orestes, Indiana was created by Carolyn Shettle and was adopted by the Town Board in 1976. The rings represent continuity. One ring symbolizes the town's Delaware Indian heritage. One ring is for the gas boom that created the town, and one ring is for the more-than 300-year old Orestes oak tree. The rings are O’s, standing for Orestes. The flame represents the discovery of gas, and it also suggests the torch of liberty. The colors are red, white, and blue for freedom, and the blue is made brighter to also represent independence. Unintentionally, but clearly visible in blue, outlined by the flame, is a descending dove which symbolizes peace and Christianity. Digital file made entirely by me.
