Archivo: Fassaroe Cross 2014 003
Description: Fassaroe Cross. This may be an early ecclesiastical site although the cross was allegedly brought here from elsewhere. It is a small granite cross with an unpierced ring. On the west face there is a Crucifixion and on the east face there are two worn human heads. Both of them are apparently bearded and one of them may have a mitre. There are two other much worn heads, one on the lower south edge of the cross-head and the other on the north-east side of the base. The date of the cross is uncertain but it is probably 15th or 16th century.
