Description: Downtown Sylva, NC from an airplane. Taken in 2003. It shows how main street looks today. The Jail on the back of the courthouse in the middle-right has since been demolished, a new library has been constructed on the site. The area between the Courthouse and the large, white steepled Baptist Church was once largely homes, all but one made way for the present buildings. Sylva High School once stood on the site of the larger Baseball Field on the lower right. It was demolished in 1990.
