Descripción: Looking slightly south of due eastward from the west side of Grand Circus Park in downtown Detroit, Michigan, in December 2020, we see the David Broderick Tower just right of center. The second-tallest building in the state (at a height of 369 feet) at the time of its construction in 1928, the building was originally called the Eaton Tower; subsequent owner David Broderick (1885-1957) was an insurance broker and real estate developer. It was redeveloped as apartments in 2012 after a long period of vacancy. In the foreground is the Thomas Edison Memorial Fountain, installed in 1929 as Detroit's contribution to "Light's Golden Jubilee", the 50th anniversary of its namesake's invention of the incandescent light bulb.
