Description: The arms were first granted on June 16, 1962 and confirmed on May 28, 1973. The arms are a combination of the arms of the two main landowners in the district, the monastery of Ebrach and the Prince-Bishopric of Bamberg. The lion is taken from the arms of Bamberg, the (canting) boar (Eber) from the arms of Ebrach.
