Although this could be considered a quieter side of the island, a trip here is well worth it. There are many beautiful cafes and restaurants with a great view of the surfing spectacle. The Pelican Village Craft Center Do not go home without taking a little something to remind you of your stay. If you are interested in artisanal crafts and artwork, you will be delighted by what you find in the Pelican Village Craft Center in the Capital City Bridgetown. Take a couple hours to stroll about the pretty village and admire the local craftsman hard at work. There is also an Art Gallery, Bistro and a Wine Bar among the 25 shops that proffer an large variety of leather work, wood carvings, paintings, woven baskets, and pottery. After an afternoon browsing and selecting some appealing souvenirs, you can sit down to relax and grab a bite at the local restaurant. Caves, Reefs, Beaches and Gardens In addition to the cultural attractions that the island offers, no trip to here would be worth the sand that collects in your socks if you don’t visit the plethora of natural beauties that the island offers in great abundance. Carlisle Bay and Brighton Beach to name a couple. Snorkeling, scuba diving and catamaran-cruising over the beaches and reefs will help you to redefine your idea of pristine natural beauty. The warm waters of the Caribbean are teeming with splendidly fascinating fish folk and creatures that couldn’t be imagined. Then there are caves to be explored with tidal pools filled with more interesting sites to fire the imagination. Don’t worry if you are claustrophobic. Harrison’s Cave is stories high inside and has plenty of airflow.
