Descripción: Soldiers of the 38th Battalion (Ottawa), Canadian Expeditionary Force marching on Queen Street towards its upper end, which intersects with Church Street (in front of what then was the location of the Hamilton Hotel and now is the site of the Hamilton City Hall and an adjacent car park), in the City of Hamilton, Bermuda in 1915. The building on the right, in the background, currently (2021) houses E.R. Aubrey Jewellers Ltd. To the left of this is the Par-La-Ville property, originally a private residence, containing the original house (now housing the Bermuda Library and the Bermuda Historical Society museum), the Perot Post Office, and Queen Elizabeth II Par-La-Ville Gardens. The battalion was posted to the British Army Bermuda Garrison (the second Canadian battalion to serve in Bermuda during the First World War, having relieved the Royal Canadian Regiment) in place of a regular British Army battalion (the 2nd Battalion of the Lincolnshire Regiment) that had proceeded to the Western Front. The battalion remained at Bermuda from 12 August, 1915, until 20 May, 1916 before proceeding to the Western Front.
